Frozen shoulder treated by Acupuncture
Frozen shoulder is a common, painful and sometimes disabling condition that can last for months or years. The characteristic symptoms are pain, stiffness, and limitation of active and passive shoulder movements (particularly external rotation of the joint). These symptoms may be severe enough to interfere with everyday activity (e.g. driving, dressing or sleeping), and may prevent some patients from working.

Using Acupoints
Meridians and collaterals form the important system for the circulation of qi and blood. Along the meridians there are certain points where the qi of the internal organs reaches. Because acupuncturists use these points during treatments, the points are called acupoints.

Insomnia and acupuncture
Insomnia, which is not caused by a physical illness or condition, is defined as sleep of unsatisfactory length and/or quality, over a long period of time. It includes difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep, disturbed sleep and/or early final wakening.

Acupuncture and Emotional Disorder
Emotional disorders are very common in our society and include depression, stress, anxiety, etc. Although, everyone feels downhearted and worried at times, these feelings usually pass after a couple of days. If the feelings occur often, they start to interfere with daily life.

Breech Births and Moxibustion in Manchester
The most common presentation of a baby just before birth is head down and facing the mother’s back, which is the easiest position for the baby to pass down the birth canal.
In a breech presentation the baby is born buttocks or feet first instead of head first and labour is likely to be more prolonged with an increased risk to the baby.
It is not always possible for a doctor to turn the baby into the head-down position before birth, but at our Manchester (Altrincham) clinics we offer Moxibustion as an option.

Acupuncture and Infertility
A couple is regarded as infertile if, after regular sexual intercourse, they have not conceived in two years. There are a few important pathological factors that could affect pregnancy.

Moxibustion Treatment
Moxibustion works by focussing warmth on certain areas of the body by burning natural compressed Mugwort leaf ( Folium Artemisiae Argyi ).
There are two methods of Moxibustion practised: direct and indirect. All our clinics use the indirect method of Moxibustion and use this method in two different ways
